& MOVEMENT WORKERS
IN THE AGE OF AI
TL4PA (Tech Literacy for Progressive Activists) is a project aimed at providing education and resources to bridge the gap between tech
and movement work.
As movement workers, it is crucial that we understand how AI tools
are used in order to navigate an AI-driven future and make informed decisions about when and if these tools make sense for our work.
It begs the question, how can we make educated decisions on when
to use AI and machine learning in our work as progressive activists?

AI GUIDE OVERVIEW
The AI Guide is intended to support activists, organizers, and other movement workers in developing a clear and nuanced understanding of the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence. As these technologies become increasingly integrated into social, political, and organizational contexts, movement workers are often faced with complex decisions about, when and how to engage with them (if at all).
In response, this guide provides accessible, grounded information about artificial intelligence systems, alongside critical considerations regarding their potential benefits, limitations, and risks. It is designed to help readers evaluate if these tools may align with their values, goals, and organizing strategies. By equipping movement workers with the knowledge needed to assess these technologies thoughtfully, the guide aims to support more informed, intentional, and strategic decision-making about their use, whether that involves adopting, adapting, or choosing not to engage with AI in their work.
